How did I get here?

I’m here after millions of small and big decisions.
Some of the biggest ones had to do with education: NABA and then Politecnico di Milano (with a small colorful portuguese parentesis in Lisbon at IADE) led me to my first internship in Nestlè and then... everything else is explained here below.
Along the way I met a lot of special humans who made work a fun and enriching thing to do together.

Varian is an American radiation oncology treatments and software maker, helping millions of people worldwide in their fight against cancer since more than 75 years.
Since 2021 is part of Siemens Healthineers supporting every step of the cancer care journey - from screening to survivorship.

WHAT I AM DOING
  • Explore design concepts, prepare prototypes, define scenarios to test and do usability tests with radiotherapists in order to assess design solutions and iterate quickly based on the test outcomes.
  • Work closely with a UX Researcher supporting them during summative studies.
  • Engage engineers, who may not be accustomed to working with UX, early in the design process, trying to establish a new and efficient way of collaborating with them.
  • Define user problems and scope together with product mangers.
  • Implement SHUI, Siemens design system in a Varian product (which, in my specific case, means rebuild it from scratch).
  • Understand designer needs and redefine rituals and processes to foster a more productive and cohesive design team environment.
